I’ve been running for years, and most recently I completed my first 100 miler last year. The more you run, of course the more you are injured, right? This year I have been battling knee inflammation. It got to the point that walking up and down a few steps became a chore. I honestly thought I’d probably never run again. Reaching out to Jenni with Mercuria Running changed my whole life. She opened my eyes up to what was lacking in my running form. Jenni essentially taught me how to run again, but in a way to use other strong parts of my body, to avoid putting too much stress on my knees. Her long distance (virtual) individualized plan had me start with form focus drills, warm ups, strength training and a run/walk routine. I've learned so much from Jenni with Mercuria Running! As someone who has been running long distances for over a decade, I wasn't sure what to expect from coaching, but I was hoping to get a little extra help in accomplishing my race goals. Jenni helped me improve my form, which has helped with some of the running injuries and pain I would get when working up to longer distances. She also helped me dial in my running nutrition and hydration, which has made a big difference in how I feel during long runs and accelerating the recovery after. I’ve been a client of Mercuria Running for almost 2 years and am proud to call myself a Mercurian! I answered an email blast from our local running store for a half marathon training group led by Coach Keri-Ann Rugg and signed up. Although I had run a few HMs already, I was curious what a formal training program could do. Turns out a lot. I am now knowledgeable about different types of training runs, pacing, hydration and fueling and often find myself helping less experienced runners. Under Coach Keri-Ann’s expert supervision I have now run 13 HMs and also done something I never thought I would do - run 2 marathons! (and am signed up for 2 more!) I found Mercuria Running through google and it was an amazing experience. At the time, I felt like I wasn’t getting any faster even though I was doing speed intervals and my fitness increased through cross-training. I felt like my gait was off and I didn’t know how to fix it. Friends and trainers in the gym gave me a few tips here and there, but nothing compared to working with Mercuria Running. I’m the type that needs to see to learn and understand what’s going on. On the first session, Jenni was the most bubbly and friendly person I met.
